The Parish Council employs a dedicated handyman to take care of the small but important tasks that help keep our area looking its best. From weeding and cutting back overgrown bushes to litter picking and general maintenance, the handyman responds to issues identified by Councillors and works hard to ensure our community remains clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

July & August 2025
- Weston Close and Ingestre Close, cut back hedges and pavements cleared.
- Strimmed the alley to the side of Gorsemoor School.
- All rubbish cleared up opposite Sidon hill Road.
- Weeded Hednesford Road car park.
- Cut back and tidied Hudson close.
- Corner junction of Hobart Road, cut trees back.
- Weeded around the curbs.
- Cleared frontages of schools and nearby school crossings.
- Strimming and mowing in Wimblebury and Heath Hayes.
- Weeded around the High Street.
- Cut back the bushes around Deavall Way.
- Cleaned the bus stops and notice board in Wimblebury.
- Cleared the block paving and painted the benches at Kent Place.
- Cleaned and painted the railings around the War memorial in Wimblebury.
- Cannock Road and Heath Way, large trees cut back pavement cleared.
- Cannock Road Cul de sac , hedge cut back.
- Picnic area opposite Sidon Hill, all areas littered picked rubbish removed.
- Primrose Meadow hedges strimmed.
- Tree and hedge cut back on John Street to ensure signs are visible.
- Alley opposite Five Ways School cut back and tidied.
- Cleaned up park entrance.
- Emptied all bins and picnic area opposite Sidon Hill.
June 2025
- Cleared the alley opposite Five Ways School.
- Mowed Arthur Street.
- Cut back hedges on Hayes Way and widened the path.
- Tidy up the alley on Hednesford Road and weed around the phone box.
- Alley on Hednesford Road and Bank Street.
- The Bin at the top of Cannel Mount has had to be removed due to continuous vandalism.
- Weeding along the High Street and car park.
- Beacon way cut and strimmed.
May 2025
- Nine bus stops weeded and then weed sprayed, will have a go at cleaning the glass.
- Cul de Sac Canterbury Way cut and tided.
- High Street car park rubbish cleared and removed.
- Bungalows off Cannock Road hedges cut back, rubbish removed, mowed Arthur Street and Bank Street grass.
- Strimmed bushes on St Laurence Drive.
- Cleared rear of the community centre for a storage shed and laid the base.
- Weeded the square on Heath Hayes High Street.
- Filled the planters with fresh plants.
- Vandalism at Cannel Mount.
- Bin on Bank Street car park emptied.
April 2025
- Arthur Street and Beacon Way cut and strimmed.
- Cut and strimmed the bank at the top of John Street, walkway up to Cannel Mount.
- Clean up of Cannel Mount Horseshoe Drive and car parks around Wimblebury.
- Cutting back overhanging trees from the road along Melbourne Road.
- One new flag pole erected.
- Grass cut Arthur Street, Beacon Street and Bank Street car park.
- Cutting back hedges on Pheasant Way Estate
- Dog dispenser bag holders concreted into place side of Gorsemoor school and opposite Five Ways Primary School.
